NYOS has two Open Studios per year and this was a much quieter Winter Open Studio on 2/3 November for NYOS , with 4 other local artists talking part in Knaresborough. These events are always hard to predict in terms of how busy they will be , they have been good to meet other artists and your local community and of course those people who make the effort to come and visit , it is so much appreciated by the artists as its a great deal of work to turn your home and studio in to a Gallery.
The work I've shown was from a collection of ' Emotional Fabric' woven glass peices which explore invisible labour and emotions, sley glass , selvedge and glass sculptures in various states of deconstruction and glass bobbins . Much of this work is Kiln formed glass threads and glass bobbins. I also recycled scrap material creating Circular bobbin boards - ' Worn' showing the beauty from wear and tear , these were material from the recyle centre at Farsley ' Scrap' which is a MUST visit for artists and crafters! and is at Sunny Bank Mills.
